The First Cannes Festival
.
On this day to October 5, 1946, the first Cannes Festival was held. After postponing its opening after 7 times due to World War II, it was finally here.
The idea of this festival is a simple French idea for competing with the Venice Film Festivals, which, according to them, was too biased. In the former Casino of Cannes, 21 countries presented their films.
Winners were :)
