Discovering abandoned places around the world

I always loved abandoned old places. They look awesome and if I had a camera and a little bit more of time, definitely I would go around this kind of places to explore.
I find them scary and exciting at the same time, and they have a lot of history between their walls. But I think that I wouldn't go on my own.
Unfortunately there is a lot of vandals that goes to places like this and disrespect the whole area, by destroying walls, taking parts of it home, painting graffiti and throwing rubbish everywhere, this is the case of the ship from the pictures, the American Star, in Spain. It was vandalised multiple times by the people who was living near the wreck or travelling to see it. They stole a lot of material from the ship and painted graffiti, but I will dedicate a whole new post to that ship which no longer exists, as it definitely sunk few years ago.
