England wins FIFA U-20 World Cup

.
England created history by winning their first ever U-20 FIFA World Cup title with a 1-0 victory over Venezuela in the final on Sunday.

The match in Suwon was won by a 35th minute goal from Dominic Calvert Lewin which also delivered England their first world title in any age group since their senior team's triumph in 1966.

The win was greatly hailed and wildly celebrated all over the nation.

The victory was made even sweeter as two of its players won pretigous personal accolades before the final.

Liverpool-bound forward Dominic Solanke won the Adidas Golden Ball award for his dazzling play and long defence-splitting runs throughout the tournament.
He scored the solitary goal in the win against Mexico in the quarterfinals and added a brace against Italy in a 3-1 semifinal win to take his tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Freddie Woodman won won the Adidas Golden Glove award. He capped the award win with a penalty save in the final. He kept his cool to block the spot kick from Venezuela's Adelberto Penaranda that helped to boost the spirits and play of his England teammates.

Italy won third place in a penalty shoot-out victory over Uruguay. The match ended goalless in extra time.

It was also a double-joy for Italy as Juventus' Ricardo Orsolini won the Adidas Golden Boot Award. His five goals scored throughout the tournament was unmatched.

The Fair Play Award was won by Mexico as they registered only 3 yellow cards and 45 fouls on their gallant run to the quarterfinals.

LiaF7 Congrats England! :)
Portuguese national TV didn't give much emphasis to these U-20 games. I think Zambia put us down or something like that.
They are always focused more on the UEFA European Championship.
In that, Portugal won in 2016 the european championship.
